Junk Email Advice to People Responsible for Departmental Email Servers Unix

If you are running a Unix server, the TCP wrapper programs offer a good solution, although you may be able to reconfigure sendmail (depending on which version you are using). Wrappers are available in source form from http://www.ja.net/CERT/JANET-CERT/SOFTWARE.html and in compiled form from ftp://ftp.uwsg.indiana.edu/pub/security/wrapbin/ . Instructions on how to use wrappers are available with the software. It is hoped that we can give clearer advice in the near future.
It should be noted that this does not stop the user%site1@site2 method of relaying. If you are responsible for a Unix server and need further help and advice in this area, please contact me (Chris Bayliss). Please direct other queries via the Helpdesk .
