Mailing Lists at the University of Birmingham User Guide What is Majordomo?

Majordomo is the name of the list server software on the Central Mail Server at the University of Birmingham. Majordomo was written by Brent Chapman of Great Circle Associates and is made available for use free of charge.

The software is accessible by sending email to it (majordomo@bham.ac.uk) containing requests or commands. Note that email should be sent to "majordomo" and not "majordom", as "majordom" is an alias for the "owner" of majordomo and email sent to it is forwarded to systems staff who are responsible for maintaining the email software.
